During the 2017 Fall Break, the Kaiser MCLC film students participated in an exclusive, invitation only film making contest in New York City hosted by the All American High School Film Festival.  They were required to film and edit a short film within a mere three days.  The 30+ participating teams from across the nation were granted the privilege of filming in iconic NYC locations such as Grand Central Station, Central Park, etc.  Their film, The Last Check, won first place and is notable as they are the first Hawaii high school and first Hawaii public school to win this award.  The amazing and talented students that participated in the contest were:  Tyler Bender, Julia Bresnan, Gerald Canaday, Lucy Chalekian, Hunter Diaz, Albert Insisiengmay, Noah Matsumoto, Makana Richter, Landon Shigeta, and Riley Jade Yee.  Mahalo to MCLC advisors, Tanya Misi and Aaron Yoshino, and VP Dana Takahara-Dias for chaperoning to make this memorable trip possible. Congratulations on representing Kaiser HS well in the Big Apple!
