COUGARS PLACE AT JAPAN WIZARDS COMPETITION (JWC)!

Congratulations to our Japanese language students, Sophia Sasaki, Lila Jay and Thomas Bell for placing 3rd in the highest Level B, at the Japan Wizards Competition held on the UH Mānoa campus.
From Sensei Burgess: “It was a nail-biting finish! Our students came incredibly close to the top spot, proving that they are among the very best in the state. Although they narrowly missed the grand prize trip to Japan by the slimmest of margins, the team had an unforgettable experience bonding and showcasing their passion for the language. Their dedication has truly put our Japanese program in the spotlight!”
The JWC, hosted by the Japan-America Society of Hawaii (JASH), is a rigorous competition testing students on Japanese language, culture, history, geography, and current events. Level B is the most challenging category, reserved for advanced students in their 3rd or 4th year of Japanese study. Interested in exploring Japanese language and culture? Join our Japanese classes and maybe you could be our next Japan Wizard!
