SWIMMING & DIVING SUMMER CONDITIONING HAS BEGUN
Diving Information:
If you are Interested in joining Kaiser’s JR. VARSITY Dive team, for this coming season (especially with a background in gymnastics, trampoline or ballet).
For more info, email Coach Asa Tanaka. ([email protected]) or Coach Skylar Yamamoto. ([email protected])
Swimming Information:
Summer Swim Team Conditioning will take place Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3:30-6:00 pm.Conditioning includes: Dry-land exercises, use of weights in the weight room, use of the track, and of course Swim Practice. We will be meeting at the pool at 3:30 pm. (On time is late, early is on time)
Why we will be using the weight room: We believe that the foundation of our swimmer’s strength and speed starts in the weight room. Swimming utilizes many muscle groups (small and large), so to strengthen them and to prevent injuries we need to get stronger. Though we will be lifting weights, it's not necessarily going to be heavy weights. It's all about mobility and repetition. (Weightlifting will be on Monday and Friday. Please bring your shoes.)
Why we will be doing dry land: This is something we incorporate with our swimmers all year around because it allows our swimmers to not only stretch and strengthen their core and legs, but better develop the focus on what specifically they are working on, coordination, balance, and stability. Also like above this will help prevent injuries in the long run. (Dry land will happen 3 times a week. Please bring your shoes.)
Why we use the track: We will be taking advantage of the track. The benefits of running and walking for swimmers are so helpful for when we have those long and grueling kick sets. Not only will the land cardio help with our leg and lower body strength, but it will also help exercise our cardiovascular systems. (The track will be used on Wednesdays. Please bring shoes.)
Why we use the pool: We are a Swim Team.
Please bring all your equipment to practice and you will need all your paperwork in order to participate. (physical form, concussion form, and parental consent form)
If you have any questions, please contact Coach Skylar via email: [email protected]
