EMERGENCY FOOD DISTRIBUTION
October 10, 2026 1:00pm – 4:00pm @Kaiser Parking Lot
In effort to help support community resiliency and disaster preparedness, the Hawaiʻi Food Bank has partnered with Kaiser High Schoolʻs Student Government to help suppy families across our community with emergency rations or Survivor Daily Ration (SDR).
On October 10th, we'll be holding a Distribution Event in Kaiser's Parking Lot where our community will drive through and pick-up their rations.
A few things to note about SDRs and this event:
- A bit different from MREs ("Meals-Read-to-Eat") which are about 1200 calories, SDRs are 2200 calories and generally supply 24-hours worth of food.
- Each SDR CASE contains a 10-day supply for 1 person that includes entrées, snacks, beverages, and more.
- 1 SDR case is to be handed out to each person living in a household. (4 people = 4 cases = 40 meals)
SDRs are vegetarian, shelfable, no refrigeration or cooking needed. - Each case is roughly 20 lbs.
- Distribution is not specific to our zipcode or any one community.
