If you are currently in grades 10-12…

This week-long summer program provides an engaging learning opportunity for students interested in health professions. Through gross anatomy laboratory demonstrations, clinical skills laboratories, computerized manikin simulations and standardized patient interactions, students will learn how to:

• describe the epidemiology signs and symptoms, pathophysiology, diagnosis, and treatment of illnesses common in Hawai‘i;
• perform basic clinical skills such as measuring vital signs and listening to the heart and lungs with a stethoscopes; and
• interview and counsel patients.

Cost: $525 for Hawaiʻi residents; $575 for non-Hawaiʻi residents. Information about scholarship opportunities can be found here.

Notes: Students must be 16+ years old by July 6, 2026 (first day of class). This course is not graded and not for college credit.

The Hawaii Pre-Health Career Corps is a free year-round program for students of any age who want to pursue a health career. Its purpose is to increase awareness about health careers, provide mentoring, shadowing and research experiences, and provide campus exposure to health careers. This program is for students who live in Hawaii or have ties to Hawaii.

The mission of PHCC is to increase awareness about health careers, connect students with mentoring, shadowing and research experiences, and provide campus exposure to health careers. Through their years in the Corps, students are given progressive responsibility and serve as mentors to incoming members, thus providing a group support system for students interested in pursuing health careers.
