Mock Trial Cougars Excel at Top Mock this summer

CONGRATULATIONS MOCK TRIAL ELITE  - PEPPER CARUSO AND STERLING MCNAMARA!
Pepper Caruso and Sterling McNamara attended Top Mock at Furman University this summer, an elite mock trial camp that accepts only the nation's most experienced, skilled, and promising high school students. Over the course of 10 days, the students are divided into six teams or six students and are immersed into the world of trial advocacy to hone their skills alongside their peers. In the Opening Statement competition, Pepper Caruso advanced to the final round and took home the 3rd place award out of all 36 students at the camp. At week's end, the students from each team voted on which member of their team would receive the Ryan Wood Memorial Award, given to one student on each team who performed at the highest level, acted with dignity, and served as the glue that held their team together. Both Pepper and Sterling were chosen by their teammates for the Ryan Wood Memorial Award for their respective teams. After advancing to the final round of State of Hawaii Mock Trial competition last season, Kaiser High School's mock trial program aims to win the State Championship this season in only its third year. With these two leaders and their veteran peers, they have as good a shot as any team to win states and advance to nationals for the first time in their history!
